Stormy Weather Day 1

I am playing catch-up, and writing this on Sunday 24 May.

Friday and Saturday have been very windy with gusts over 50 mph. Our newly leafed trees are blowing about in a spectacular style, with leaves and broken branches dropping everywhere.

There are certain areas in our garden to be avoided just now. Living with trees can be a little hazardous in these conditions.

It is very obvious that young shoots just about to leaf have been burned beyond recovery.

In the lee provided by our building we set out to have lunch in the sun until a sudden rain shower dictated otherwise.

Much of our day is taken up with FaceTime conversations. Everybody is well, although many have a sense of forboding in both here and in the USA. Enough said.

We are fine, staying within our "Shield".

The Blipfoto is of the rather fine fern that lives just outside our entrance door. For the past two years it has happily survived the winter with most fronds surviving well.

This year, they all disappeared completely. However, it may be late, but it is still in business.
