Community Spirit

As in many villages and small towns there has always been a good community spirit in Arnside. The present crisis has boosted it to a new level. Highly organised with an office and dedicated phone line the Arnside Volunteer Group has hundreds of signed up volunteers willing to give help to all who need it. Its been heartwarming to see just how caring people are. They have even made 1,000 items of PPE for the local care homes and clinics.

Yesterday evening saw the launch of a new venture to celebrate this village spirit.

An extraordinary talent show has been put together by the volunteers group. This is in the form of a celebratory programme on YouTube. It lasts for 1 hour and 38 minutes and has a dazzling array of entertainment.
There are several folk singers, poetry readers, ukulele and steel band group, photographic displays, a magician, a professional cellist, an organist, young people’s music groups, art displays, clog dancers and many, many others.

Of course it is mainly of interest to local residents (over 800 hits so far) but if anyone wants to sample it, go to search on YouTube and enter Come What May.
