A Story Behind Every Picture

The story here is that for more than two years, we have been plagued by two unwanted visitors to our garden. We call them “The Cacoons” because they are stray cats that look more like raccoons; one with a striped tail even. The male sprays a nasty strong Tom Cat smell on our back porch and they even come inside our house if we forget to close the cat flap when we go out or at night. We have tried using humane animal traps but only ever managed to catch possums in it.

The other story is that I learned that you are supposed to harvest the hard green fruit on immature Peach trees so that they can produce bigger fruit the following year. So I had the idea of using these small hard fruits like stones to launch at the Cacoons when they appear in our garden to scare them off

This is the basket of green peaches that Persi is investigating in the photo.
