Forgotten Footbridge

Well it has been a rather wet and windy day so It was a quick blip today so I headed up into Dunfermline for this shot of The Phoenix lane Footbridge looking rather sad and overgrown but still fully intact remarkably which allowed people to cross over the Dunfermline to Stirling line via Oakley and Bogside to name but a few this would be a great bridge for a preserved line to acquire as the wooden steps are still intact albeit with some ivy and silver birches growing on it now the line closed to passengers in 1968 and not long after that full closure after the coal trains to oakley ceased as well a shame to see great craftwork of Iron going to waste as it would certainly look fab on some of the preserved lines that would give it some TLC anyhow this is my blip for the day as I have a couple of O/T shifts today and tomorrow both the same job working the 20:02 service from Edinburgh to Newcastle and back as a passenger on the last East Coast service so just short shifts to help out as they say but in this shot it does look like "A Bridge Too Far" 1977
