Eyes On The Prize

………….yes, I know it's only one eye but that didn't sound right ;-))

My garden was filled with Corvids ……. Rooks, Jackdaws and Magpies to be precise. They descended and basically fought over and devoured every scrap of food out there ……….. the poor blackbirds just sat in the trees and watched them do it.
However, we were out there all afternoon digging over and replanting a stretch of border and the blackbirds had a fine old time coming down to scratch for worms etc as we did it.
We later replenished  all the feeders so the small birds could get a share and thus far haven't seen the Corvids en masse again, so I'm hoping ( for the sake of our bank balance) that it was a one off ……. we shall see :-))
