Young stag

This is probably the hardest time to catch up with the local deer. The stags have all got their heads down since they lost their antlers and are concealing themselves. This is good in a way because there's less chance for the local poachers to get onto them.but sometimes I don't get to see them for months. I am fine with that as long as they keep themselves safe from predators of the two legged kind. 

This young stag with his velvety antler bumps just happened to come out of dense foliage. Seeing him safe for now was more important than the picture..
