A Favorite Place

For MonoMonday331.  Here we go again, trying to find a favorite.  My favorite place, being a home body of sorts, is probably my home, but that didn't seem to fit today's theme for some reason.  My next favorite place to be would be the ocean or at least on the coast, but that wasn't happening today either.  So this is really one of my favorite places that was easy to get to today - it's the conservation area about 0.5 miles from home.  It was a place Sumner (daughter) liked to come to when she needed to be alone, a place where we placed a memorial bench.  There are miles of trails and this very quiet pond.  A great place for just being.  Today the birds were singing and it was really quite lovely.  We placed this bench here probably about 5 years ago with a little plaque to remember her.  Since then someone has brought a journal and a plastic container to keep it in so that others can write down their thoughts when sitting here.  It's really quite lovely to read what is written and during this time of stay-at-home, there were a few writing about what a wonderful time they had just being out in nature.

So, many thanks to Carolina for hosting MM and making the challenges interesting and personal and also to her and her long line of family members who have served in the military and are honored on this day in the U.S.
