River of Flowers

Tuesday: Future Fruit ...

... Red eating apples, pear & strawberries, all coming along well in spite of ground being bone dry following days of ferocious wind!
I have 2 Acers (Japanese Maples) in pots, late yesterday I noticed their leaves were curling and the compost bone dry and they’ve need repotting for years and I never get round to it :-(((
Had quite a job getting the Acers out of their pots, roots were gripping the sides - eventually chopped them out, removed a lot of matted roots and weeds and potted them up in very large pots with lots of fresh ericaceous compost, MrD carried the heavy pots to their new positions!
We’d both got up before 7 this morning, MrD went shopping and was back very quickly with everything we need.
Still cloudy at the end of the morning so got the garden hose out and gave everything a really good soak, including the newly repotted Acers.
Afternoon of reading & relaxing - had shortbread with a coffee mid afternoon, thank you MrD
Stay safe & healthy and happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
