Our Journey is a process

Lupines and Daisies

Thank you all for your kind remarks on yesterday's photos.

I am trying to get back to taking photos everyday and posting at least one.

At the present, all of my photos are taken with my iPhone.    To be honest (and this is just me right now) I am not challenged enough just pointing my iPhone and shooting a photo.  I thoroughly enjoyed my hikes and excursions with my D810 in the past.  It is a challenging camera and I love the variety and clarity that this camera brought to my photos.  But, I am not able to carry it around any longer. It is just too heavy and aggravates my neck and shoulder too much.

That is the main reason why I haven't been around.  Photography is still one of my passions, and especially landscape photography.  But I get discouraged when I can't produce the images that I want.  Yes, I still get out and take long walks and hike several times a week, but it just isn't the same without my camera.

Some of you may recall that I was in an automobile accident a couple of years ago, and sustained neck and shoulder injuries.  Initially, it seemed I had just some torn ligaments, etc.  But over time things didn't heal.  The doctors found severely stretched nerves and shredded tissues causing lots of inflammation.  The various treatments have not been successful and specialists I have seen have suggested surgeries that have a limited success rate and could make matters worse.  So, the remaining issues I have are now considered permanent.

Between dealing with all the medical, finalizing an insurance settlement, trying to keep up with my consulting business, and now the Covid-19 shutdown, my photography - what little I can do - has waned.

But with every lemon, there is an opportunity to make lemonade.  I am planning to purchase one of the newer, smaller cameras soon which will become my new walking and hiking companion.  Yeah!
