Life Savors

Traveler on the Trans-Neighborhood Expressway

We live in a neighborhood that is governed by a Homeowner's Association.  When we bought our house we signed an agreement that we would abide by the HOA covenants regarding swimming pools, fences, house color, additions, etc.  Whenever someone wants to do anything to their house, first the "architectural committee" must approve the plans and then the adjacent neighbors must also sign off on it as well.  This is what we had to do when we built our deck, changed our house color and when we had our porch added (which is on the back of the house and really can't be seen by anyone).

There is only one kind of fence that is approved and that is a split rail fence which offers no privacy, but with adequate landscaping and time privacy can be achieved.  These fences also provide a very fast pathway for all the squirrels to scurry from yard to yard.  It is very common to see squirrels traveling along the top rails of the fence, frequently stopping on the posts for a rest and a look around, perfect for a blip!  This fence in particular has had wiring added to keep the dog in.
