Painterly Trees

As I still had the telephoto lens on the tripod with the camera attached (remnant  from last nights aborted Nasa SpaceX launch) I thought I would photograph the trees on the other side of the field out the back of us, and do a bit of work in PS.
 
I chose ‘Artistic’ filter and thought the ‘Palette Knife’ gave the best results.  Now I can’t think of an artist that does landscapes using a palette knife.  There must be at least one!?  So much for my artistic knowledge - can anyone help . . . ??
 
Busy day watering our lawn - had to re-build the sprinkler to get it to work, but that’s par for the course around here.
