Light Play

Bright sunlight streaks through the trees across the grass at the edge of the inlet. One could say a double pun: playing with light to find a pleasing composition using the sunbeam; and also taking photographs on a sunny evening is a low intensity activity. To be fair, when it's 83°F, there's not much work to be done.

The only tricky part is the bright light reflecting on the water behind the trees. I still find the best way to lower the highlights and avoid burnt out spots in the image is to use the brush tool to lower the exposure. I want to do so to encourage the eye to see the sunlit grass. Global adjustments to whites/highlights and even using the radial tool don't seem to cut it.
