A Holly Tree

A pre bonsai tree.......   this is a Holly Evergreen.  You can tell it's a holly from the leaves.....   they have pointy corners.  At the end of each  point is a sharp spike, discouraging wild grazers from chewing the leaves as fodder.   This is the backside.   There is a branch starting at the bottom of the trunk, reaching to the right.....   Straight but tapered.  The straightness is considered an unacceptable characteristic.   When the pot is rotated 180 degrees (the other side) there is another branch coming out of the branch.  It breaks up the straightness, being less offensive it makes for a great front.  The tree will get styled soon and I will repost the bonsai.   It's really cute in the raw, and will make a lovely, small tree........
