Weird Or What !!

This perfectly ordinary succulent, of which we have several in the garden, has suddenly gone wild.  All of the others grow in lovely rounded low mounds.  This one has suddenly gone wild.  Over the past few weeks it has started throwing out trailing tendrils round the pot.  Then this week these tall spikes have appeared and if that was not enough weirdness, yesterday these buds grew on the top.
