so there I was standing in a field waiting for a ray of sun to burst through and illuminate a bit of the fellside. Sam had driven his Steamboat across the lake, chimneys smoked, an occasional motor car went past and birds twittered and fluttered around in the chilly wind.

Then this hulking behemoth thundered by!

Surely nobody in Dockray ordered THAT MANY flowers?
I reckon he missed the turning near Penrith that would have taken him to Pooley Br then Glenridding and was cutting through Dockray from the A66.

Even if, originally he was indeed supposed to be on the main lakeside road.. really though? in that size of wagon? Surely that cant be right!
He would probably get turned in Glenridding but if not, then...Kirkstone Pass
