Scarce Chaser

It felt very like high summer through the Boardwalks and along the River Nene this morning. The Cuckoo was calling almost constantly, with a supporting cast of Cetti's warbler (briefly glimpsed), Reed Warbler, Sedge Warbler, Garden Warbler and Chiffchaff. Plenty of dragon and damselflies including Broad-bodied Chaser, Scarce Chaser and Emperor, though most didn't stop long enough for a photograph. Male Scarce Chasers are very territorial and will often return to a particular stick or branch to keep an eye on their domain. This one wasn't at all bothered by my presence.
