Uluru

This week is National Reconciliation Week in Australia. And this is Uluru in Central Australia, taken in 2010.

Three years ago 250 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders met at Uluru, and developed the Uluru Statement from the Heart. The Statement was the culmination of years of consultation and discussion.

The Statement outlines a way forward for constitutional recognition of First Nations People. It proposes a First Nations Voice to Parliament,  together with a process for treaty making and truth telling.

To date the Government has not accepted the Statement.
