Stump removal

L, who comes round for 3 hours on a Tuesday afternoon to help with garden chores, drew the short straw today when she was roped in to helping W to remove three laurel stumps.  It was quite hard work, W levering the stump up with a long crow bar whilst L grovelled around on the ground cutting the roots.  Mind you - the alternative employment would have been weeding the front yard, a soul destroying and back breaking job.

In extras, the trophies.

The goldfish pool is now reconstructed, and the pump is working.  Tomorrow we will make a trip to the garden centre and buy some more otter food.  It's nice to hear burbling water on the patio - the wildlife pond and rill are not audible from the house, sadly.
