Bordeaux Harbour

Our days seem to have settled into a regular pattern and whilst observing the social distancing rules are enjoying a little more freedom. We went into town this afternoon as we needed something from the apple store. Town looked beautiful with bunting and the brightly coloured flags flying. Not all the shops were open but those that were, were only letting a few people in store at a time. We are trying to buy everything locally to support our economy and keeping online orders to a minimum.

After town we went to the mower shop at the northern end of the island as our son's petrol trimmer would not keep running. I had completely cleaned it and flushed out the old fuel but I could not get it to keep going. I think there was an internal problem which I couldn't get inside to fix. I dropped it off for the engineers at the mower shop to fix. On our way back we came past Bordeaux harbour and thought it looked beautiful in the afternoon sunshine.
The day has been warm again and our poppy has started to bloom. It looked magnificent this morning when the first giant flower opened. It was soon visited by a bumble bee.
