Busy Day

Mistress started to mow the lawns this morning. Got half way through them but gave up with the heat and sore foot. After that exercise, she made herself a very healthy Beetroot, spinach, banana, and Berry smoothie, and once she had the energy took off up to the Wairau Lagoons to try and find a blip.

I behaved and didn't get anything out of focus. Mainly because it was so hot. She took a number of shots - and it was very hard to choose which one to blip - the dried up salt marsh with all the cracks, the Swallow in flight, the Black Swan in flight, the path going into the distance, or the Canada Geese.

In the end - the Canada Geese won as she wanted people to know she is not happy that flocks of these are settling in the lagoons, competing with our native spoonbill population.

They are not native, they breed like rabbits, and they make a helluva mess. According to National Geographic, 50 of these birds can produce 2.5 tonnes of excrement a year.

Anyway - the Mistress managed to do a 50 minute walk up here, then went home and finished the lawns. All very productive and energetic. Must be the beetroot in the smoothie!

Note the sky - another cloudless hot day in Marlborough!
