Birkett bashing

We drove over to near Ennerdale and did another "Birkett" walk. As with so many of his walks, it was over open fellside with no paths. Must admit, we're finding them tedious and not particularly enjoyable, so we may well knock them on the head for a bit.

Todays walk was an 8 mile route over what would normally be total bog. Made passable by the drought conditions. It included 9 Birketts:

Kelton Fell
Godworth
Banna Fell
Flouten Cop
Gavel Fell
High Nook
High Pen
Low Pen
Murton Fell

The photo shows the shelter on top of the ridiculously steep sided Murton Fell. A stonkingly hot day, made the walk feel a lot longer than it was
