Wildflowers

There has been a small piece of land outside my garden wall which borders a footpath. It used to have a huge bed of nettles there and when they started erupting in my garden l asked the neighbour (whose land it is) to deal with them.. his gardener sprayed it off constantly for about 4 years.  As the result it was just dirt and roots nothing growing and it looked horrible so l decided l would sow some wildflowers.. l asked him to stop spraying.. but after scattering a huge bag of seed and seeing them start to grow one day they all died off... the son had weedkilled.. arghgh.. anyway l had more words and this year put up a sign to say no spraying and have now got a few wildflowers growing.. so far there has been campion and love in a mist (not sure that is strictly a wildflower but it is pretty) and now this tall blue plant has appeared.  I had no idea what it was... does anyone else? (I have looked it up and will tell you tomorrow :) if you don't know)   my knowledge of wildflower names is pretty shocking so you probably do know what it is!!!  I can see lots of it so here's hoping it likes living here and sows itself around.  Everyone who walks here has commented how nice it is to have some colour instead of the bare soil.  I am being a little selective.. all thistles and nettles are coming out.. figure they can grow elsewhere!!
It's been gloriously chilly and wet again today.. my veg patch is loving it and l think l will be able to pick some radish and salad rocket and spinach and lettuce by the weekend.. yippee!!  Even the spring onions are growing!
