A Resting Horatio

Dear Diary,

I took a page out of Horatio's book and after doing a few errands, rested most of the day on my lovely porch.  In fact, it was so nice on the porch that I stayed up late listening to the Whippoorwilll singing which always starts promptly at 9:00 pm.  The male sings to defend its territory and to attract a mate.  They nest on the ground at the edge of the woods although I've never actually seen one.  I do love their song though.  A tiny bit of rain during the night; we need so much more but the dragonflies have returned and that is always such a wonderful moment.  A very warm day  today...sigh.
