Black Lives Matter

Had the privilege of attending a protest in our own little town today. It was peaceful, moving and encouraging. The whole thing, supported by between 1,000 and 2,000 people was organized and led by a 17 year old white girl whose parents were sensible enough to advise against her attending one of the big city protests but encouraged her to organize a local one. The protest was opened with prayer, and various speakers stood up to condemn racism and encourage change, including our local police chief, who was entirely supportive of the protest. I have to say my hope for the future lies with so many impressive young people ably representing a broad swathe of society even in our little town. So encouraging, I just hope this will continue to galvanize more and more people to see the changes that are so needed in our broken societies.
