…………..Wood Pigeon

These birds are also known by the Maori name Kererū. They are quite large birds, native to New Zealand.

Today, three birds were found socialising and enjoying the seeds from the Cabbage tree growing in our garden. After eating their fill, this bird flew low and settled on a branch of the cherry blossom tree, another settled in the kowhai tree while the third remained near the seeds in the cabbage tree.
