Late Snack

The Friday night quiz was over, we’re laid back listening to music, enjoying a small aperitif and I fancied a snack. Didn’t have a grapefruit handy so no need to construct anything fancy.

Had spent the morning at the allotment again, expecting the ground to be sodden but instead it had greedily soaked up all the rain thrown at it and had started to dry out already. Planted out the neighbour’s gift of cucumber and pumpkin plants and made a couple of ramshackle cloches to protect them from the wind, the other cloches still doing the business for their seedlings. Just one snail to untangle from the strawberry net today. They’re persistent, I’ll give them that. Otherwise just weeded and weeded some more. Will maybe head back at the weekend do some weeding.
