National Dandelion Day

Well, that title isn't really true. In fact the 6th June is Sweden's National Day, and dandelions don't normally get a mention. However since the colours of the Swedish flag are yellow and blue a classic photo for the National Day would be dandelions against a blue sky.
Unfortunately the weather gods were against this concept as today the skies were cloudy and just before this walk ended the forecast rain started to fall! After weeks of blue sky there's none when you need it!
In this picture we are looking down to the (unseen) stream with the beaver dams, and then up the other side of the valley to the first house in our village. The red buildings are barns.
As you can see the fields are filled with dandelions at this time of year and in the foreground there are also a number of red-leaved aspen tree saplings.
We have dandelions in our lawn too and won't be trying to get rid of them as a new crop of seeds arrive every year from this outside world!
