Orange hawkweed

Seen on our daily walk. Introduced to the UK from Europe, apparently, and a lawn weed. Not in my lawn though and I think it's rather nice. Also called Fox-and-Cubs, or The Devil's Paintbrush.

This is my 2,000th blip, but it doesn't feel like a time for celebration. The UK has passed the dismal figure of 50,000 dead, the second worst in the world. That's behind only the US in absolute numbers, and Belgium as a proportion of population (excluding some small city states). Even now, with restrictions being relaxed, only a few countries have a worse weekly death rate. Perhaps none, proportional to population.
