wild & precious life

Lancaster Canal

Today we had a time slot to empty my daughter's university room for this academic year. It was all organised so that we wouldn't come into contact with anybody else. We arrived 45 mins too early so we had a morning walk along the canal to pass the time.

The campus was eerily quiet apart from my daughter's college's social area which we could see was being used as a parcel delivery centre during Covid-19 & was a hub of activity.

My daughter felt a little emotional so we had a drive to Glasson Dock afterwards to eat our picnic lunch. We also popped into Ashton Hall garden centre and bought some wonderful plants which cheered her up no end. She had a great time picking one for herself (a Calatheas) and others for her sister's new house as a housewarming present.

The car was packed with bags, quilts & plants but the drive back was really pleasant. It was nice to go further afield for the first time in a while!
