Witte Kaap

Today I asked my lovely wife to choose a blip. She choose one that was also one of my favorites for today. It was a beautiful day, with a sharp, bright light and great clouds.
The white building you see was inspired by the cruise ships that come to visit Amsterdam and emphasizes Amsterdams relation with the dutch maritime history. It is a design from Claus en Kaan Architecten en is called "Witte Kaap". It is also compared by some experts with the Flatiron Building in New York.
It is situated at IJburg, a new developed area of Amsterdam.
I think the sky with the clouds is great. If you look carefully, you can also spot 2 seagulls in the air, flying alongside the building. It is almost like the sky in some paintings by the famous dutch painter, Carel Willink. His style of painting is called 'magic realism'.
