on arrival

Got to Rosedale. Thick with snow, couldnt believe it. Annie met us down at the pub car park as the snow was so thick no vehicles could get up there. Our gear was hauled up thanks to a pig cart towed by a quad bike. The pig trailer was abandoned half way down the farm track and every thing was bungie strapped to the quad bike and taken down to the farm cottage. What was I going to....... the cottage was brilliant!!!! Wood burning stove.... underfloor heating and the most amazing uninterupted views. After off loading all our stuff we were told till the snow thawed we were on foot... no problem. I have A WHOLE new appreciation for farming folk, christ they have to have balls of steel to live up here.
