Life through the lens...

Cootlings

What an enjoyable day.

We had to take the car for a service, which should have been done at the beginning of April, but of course was cancelled.
Left the car at the garage, and then walked a couple of miles to our our son’s house, where we spent a very enjoyable three hours in the garden, chatting with our daughter- in - law and granddaughters.
I did have a go on the hammock, and much to MrC’s disappointment I didn’t fall out!
We were lucky that the weather was quite warm although not sunny.
It certainly seemed to pass very quickly, and after a couple of coffees and some soup for lunch, we got a phone call to say the car was ready.

So back through the fields, and past Man Dam, which is where I took this photo.
Not sure “ cootlings” is a proper name for young coots, but I rather like it.
This is a quiet nature reserve just on the edge of Cleckheaton.
About half a dozen men were sat peacefully fishing.
Lots of birds singing, and rabbits bobbing about in the fields.
You wouldn’t know you were so near the town centre.

After collecting the car we drove to see our friends K and A who we haven’t seen for over 10 weeks.
Lots of catching up to do, and again sat out in the garden. This time with a few glasses of white wine. Before we knew it it was 5pm.
Came away with two tomato plants.

What a wonderful day.
I do hope things are beginning to gradually get back to normal.
