Day of the Triffids

A friend gave me a few Brussels sprouts plants, last November. They hung on to life through the winter, and now they are going bonkers! I have already had to remove a couple of monster leaves (which I ate), and it looks like I'll have to do it again!
There are parsnip seedlings under there.
I netted the sprouts so that they would be protected from the cabbage whites, when they arrive, but they're outgrowing it!
I haven't had success with sprouts in the past, so I sowed more this spring.
Looks like it's going to be a windy winter, if they carry on like this!
