Swanning Around

What a mixed day.

A slow start (though not with any particular lie-in) was followed by a hectic dash around swimming lessons, in which Oliver was brilliant. This was followed by a demonstration day for us adults at his gymnastics centre, so we got to see what he gets up to. Parallel bars, high beam, vaulting boxes were all used (but in a very, very tame way) then on into Banbury for some shopping which was mildly successful.

As we came home I could see a reasonable sunset forming, so I dropped Oliver and Steph at home and nipped out to get a picture. I cam across these swans on some flooded fields near the Oxford Canal in Upper Heyford.

At Oliver's bedtime, his world came crashing down. His beloved and most favourite soft toy, Eric, was missing. The house was turned inside-out, the car checked (he came out on our travels today). I was even despatched back off up the motorway to hunt round car parks, and accosting staff at a Costa we stopped at to see if they had found him. So far to no avail. He truly is distraught about losing Eric.

We are hoping that when some of the shops open tomorrow we can see if they found him somewhere.
