Peace at last

These ducks at Birnie Loch seem a bit sleepy but it was almost 8 pm . It has been a wet, cold and dreary day and that was how we were feeling so we decided to cheer ourselves up with another walk to Birnie and Gaddon Lochs .
We don’t normally go in the evening and the other change we did was to walk clockwise round the lochside paths which we have never done in all the years we have walked here. It was amazing how different everything looked in reverse.
We didn’t encounter the swans this time although we saw one pair swimming in the far distance.

The only other excitement of the day was that I had a first attempt at making flapjacks . I don’t think Mary Berry would have been impressed with the appearance but they tasted delicious despite being very soft and chewy - will try again with a few tweaks !
