Sorry

Sorry to all of you who are red/green colourblind.  You will have to take my word for it that there are poppies in abundance in this picture :)  There was a huge wind today .. where has summer gone. Clouds and wind and threatening rain for most of the day.  Anyway.. here we are in what is left of a 10 acre field of poppies.  Just before they came in to bloom the field was cut down... thankfully they left a strip of about 15 feet to flower.. so there is an abundance of poppies still but sadly not as spectacular as it might have been.
Another day indoors.. but we did manage to pick enough salad and leaves to make our supper tonight before zooming with the girls.. lovely to see them both. One spent a her day at work trying to find the perfect apple picture to put on the front of a book.. the other is stressing that the work she has had recently seems to be drying up and is wondering how to make ends meet again for next month.  She is so industrious l am sure something will come along but she is worried about it.
Someone from the foodbank rang for a chat today which was really nice.  He has been shielding and lives alone with no garden so a very lonely few weeks for him.  He seemed in good spirits though and it was lovely to chat with him. They have had to reduce their days they are open at the foodbank from 5 to 2 as they are short of volunteers.  I left and then another person left... the others were mostly over 70 so all went in to lockdown and cannot volunteer for a while. All vouchers are now sent online so it has speeded up and secured the process allowing the bags t be made up in advance.  It was something they had been working towards but the pandemic hurried it on especially since the agencies had to close their doors to clients also.
