Bird of prey (painting)

Another morning of grey skies no sun showing, not raining at the moment and on the chilly side.
A painting of a bird of prey from a photo I took, I can't remember what the bird is I think it might be a kestrel or a buzzard but I'm not sure can anybody help me out with what bird it is, thank you.
