The Dedication of Gabriela Valentina Gidney

Australia is the richer for its multicultural composition, and we celebrated it today at Cross Central Church in the Dedication to God of baby Gabriela Valentina Gidney.

Gabi's father is of British settler stock going back some generations, and her mother Colombian; the pastor who led the ceremony is from a Samoan family, and other races represented in the congregation include Aboriginal Australian, Maori, Sri Lankan, Pakistani, Chinese, West African and a number of European varieties.

Grandma and an aunt had flown from South America in December to see Gabi and to be with her mother, and they were there at the Dedication. They and Aussie Grandma, and family friends, figure in a few of the shots I took, but the day belonged to Gabi and her Mum and Dad, and I felt they were the most blipworthy.
