La vida de Annie

By Annie

Nido.

Lockdown day 91.
This nest of house sparrows is opposite and above the bedroom window. I've spent the last few weeks watching the parents painstakingly construct the nest, the mother sitting on the eggs while the father brought her food, and now both parents racing back and forth bringing huge insects to feed the brood - 3 or possibly 4 chicks with ever-open beaks. Apologies for the poor shot; I couldn´t get high enough to see into the nest so had to just point and hope for the best. Unfortunately they set up house on top of the junction between two weatherproof roller blinds which make the balcony usable even in the rain; this was the place I enjoyed sitting to have a quiet read most days. Now I can't put the blinds down or even sit out there without being dive-bombed by two irate birds...

Así es la vida.
