The Veg Patch

This area was all bushes when we bought this house. They were tiny but soon grew, I should have cleared them at the beginning but it never occurred to us at the time. Extra is me using a felling axe on the roots when I was clearing it 10 years ago. We left a few of the bushes between the garden and the road so it was a bit private.
Haven't done much with it for the past few years, riding, grandchildren, and just generally being busy, but this lockdown period seemed to be a good opportunity to tidy it up and remember what a satisfaction it was to grow things.
Along the wall are 10 pots with tomato plants, some tiny green tomatoes already showing, big pot at the end of the tomatoes is compost with carrots, also a load of carrots in the main bit to the left.
Just put the French bean plants in today, which is what prompted the blip, and beyond them there are some more tomato plants, half a dozen brussel plants, lettuce and beyond the lettuce a couple of rows of spring onions. You can see two different types of rhubarb beyond, champagne rhubarb, and ordinary, sharp, rhubarb to the right. The large green pot is mint.
In the bit that you can't see very well, far end at the left, I've put some spinach plants in plus a couple of spare brussel plants that were left in the pots.
The Spinach and French bean plants were given to me by Johanna when she found them at a DIY store with a garden section. She has also got the growing bug and Ruby is loving all the planting, but she does tend to experiment with tasting the soil. I suppose she reckons if it makes the plants grow it might work on her :-)
