Remote country

A bit further off the beaten track today on North Uist to survey a village called Ardtrialish that existed between about 1750 and 1860. Sad when one sees the effort that must have gone into building this for such a relativley short period.
Indeed there is evidence that it was completely rebuilt once anyway, probably early in the 19th century so to build the farmstead twice in tihs period makes it seem even worse
A stunning spot to live howerver on the north shore of Loch nam Madadh with an excellent natural harbour below in the bay.
Then it was off to the shops on our weekly shop before heading round to neighbours D&A for drinks on the newly refurbished decking out the front of their house. Less than one kilometre away from us  but a totally different perspective.
It ended up being food as well as drinks as these things can..... hic.
