Ripley Farmers Market

The first event to be held since lockdown and appeared to be well organised. In previous visits there would be music playing, cooked food and drinks available, chairs out for people to relax, socialise or eat their delicious goodies. Today, we were given hand sanitiser, observed the 2m rule but enjoyed getting out to support small businesses.

The market is on between 9-1pm once a month. Rebecca, Sim & Natalie were meeting us there too and because Rebecca had her online teaching, we agreed to meet at 11. By this time quite a few stalls had sold out of their produce, a great confidence boost for them I’m sure. Mr C still found quite a few bits to buy....2 different types of local beer, local honey, olives, tapenade, smoked sausage, fresh strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb and asparagus. We had a little walk along the high street buying takeaway coffees from the bakers and sat on a bench having a catch up before we went our separate ways home.

We had a little potter in the garden in the afternoon. After watching spring watch the last few weeks, I asked Mr C if we could have a little pond around the side of the house. Just a small nature one, no fish. He seems quite keen and has been looking up what to get. Watch this space.
