Churchyard

Monday is shopping day so while out in the car I stopped for a short stroll around a churchyard, full of poppies.

St Andrews Chinnor was first recorded in 1160 but mostly dates from the 14th century.  There is a long-distance footpath running through Chinnor called the Icknield Way, which is pre-Roman, and Iron Age and Saxon remains have been found nearby.

There is little to show of its history today, Chinnor is mainly a modern dormitory village for Thame and Oxford.
