A Tale Of Two Benches

I met up with my friend Roger and his dog, Carly, at Ham Hill this morning for what has become our regular fortnightly catch up since restrictions began to ease. The bench here commands fine views over the village of Stoke-sub-Hamdon in the general direction of Ilminster and Taunton.

This afternoon, Tess and I dismantled the bench in our garden; the canvas base which supports the cushions has rotted and torn and we're hoping one of the local shops which specialises in restoring furniture will be able to make a new one now it's open again.

As in other parts of the country there were queues of up to 100 people waiting for the gates of Clarks Village to open this morning. Can't say I'm that desperate to go shopping again!
