Summer day in Scotland

Another day of rain, rain and more rain. So it’s a quick blip of the fruit bowl in the kitchen.

A friend rings from Glasgow. She lives alone and is fed up.
We discuss lockdown.
“Is this going to be it for the rest of my life?” she asks.
“I don’t know. Nobody knows.”

So far she hasn’t ventured out for she is in the vulnerable category.
She tells me about a couple in Oban who went to their local hospital for a routine appointment and tested positive for the virus.

Yet they have no symptoms and have kept strictly to lockdown.

It’s a mystery.
