Smart boy, or just lazy?

Buddy spotted the shape fitting box so I lifted the lid and took the shapes out so he could have a go. 
He picked up a couple, had a go but when they wouldn't fit he just lifted the lid and put them all inside!
He then got them out and did the same again.
I think he must be quite smart to find the logically quicker way to get them inside the box. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
