Wood pigeon

This wood pigeon was looking for twigs, pulling at the Virginia creeper trailing on the ground and then waddling on to other ideas.  I must look out and see where the nest is being built!

The saga of yesterday's dead sheep continues.  P who lives across the farm in the village below was driving along the road at about 4 am on her way to another farm to start milking cows when she saw a whole group of gypsies with their lurchers and various other dogs. They had obviously either been illegally hare coursing or going after deer.  They would have passed the sheeps' paddock on their way..... the dogs may have got out of control when they smelt or saw the sheep in the near darkness.   A couple of years ago K saw one of them in full daylight shooting at sheep in one of our fields which we had rented out to a shepherd, the gypsy took flight when he realised someone had seen him and was seen entering the camp in his car nearby.  I hate to say all this but it is fact. There is a problem.
