Saturdays Summer Solstice

These days the sun gets up pretty early in the North East and does a great curve to the south of us. It ends the day far in the North West.

Like a big smile in the summer.

Then in the winter, it rises in the South East and follows a pretty much straight line low across the sky and end the day early in the South West.

Like a big eye rolling unsmiling mouth in the winter.

I had never been so aware of the suns coming and going until we moved here. Now I could just about tell the season by where the sun is.

Because it’s like me. Smiling in the summer and grimacing in the winter.

This Saturday it starts to grimace again. I’ll try to delay mine just a bit longer.
