A view from St Swithin

Kingshill Forest

I took Brodie off the main path at Countesswells wood today and discovered a new (for me) trig point. At a height of 206m my OS map tells me.

There are still over 6000 trig points in the UK and unsurprisingly folk collect them a bit like Munros. The process of remapping the UK started in 1936 when I suppose the trees in this wood were a lot smaller. The bracket on top of this trig point would have been used to attach a theodolite.
