Wine,Women & Song

JamKazam

Terrible photo of the screen during a weekly music session using JamKazam which enables us to speak and sing simultaneously (there's our friend Charlie in the upper left singing) - unlike tools such as Zoom or Facetime where only one person at a time can have audio. It's nothing like the real thing, but it's better than nothing for now. It helps take some of the sting off the fact that group singing has been determined to be highly risky  as singing is a "superemitting" activity. Singing expels as much aerosols as coughing. So having 26+ singers together in a room for 2+ hours is a very bad idea. The experts have stated that there is no safe way to sing together until a vaccine is developed. Crushing news for choirs around the world. Like every other choir I've talked to, my women's choir, Vox Pacifica has cancelled its entire 2020-2021 concert season. No words.
